Greg Elwell, DMD
Dr. Greg Elwell received his undergraduate degree in biology from Augusta State University, where he excelled in both baseball and cross country. He then graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 1997. With over 32 years of experience, Dr. Elwell has been a dedicated dental practitioner in the Canton area, developing deep ties with the local community. He has been an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA) for 36 years and is also affiliated with the Hinman Dental Society, Georgia Dental Association, and Baptist Mobile Health Ministry.

Dr. Elwell places a high value on continuing education and is an active member of the Spear Education Study Club which offers dentists advanced, hands-on-training. He believes that ongoing education is key to providing the highest level of patient care, attending numerous sessions each year to stay at the forefront of dental innovation. His commitment to education reflects in his belief that “Commitment equals improved success for our patients.”

Alongside his professional achievements, Dr. Elwell cherishes his family life. He and his wife, Kim, have two children: Jack, who owns a grading company and Carson who is an occupational therapist. Outside the clinic, Dr. Elwell enjoys various outdoor activities such as trail running, hiking, fishing/hunting, and gardening.

Dr. Elwell’s mission as the practice owner and dentist is to help his patients achieve and maintain a beautiful, healthy smile for life. He values the long-lasting relationships he builds with his patients and takes pride in diagnosing, educating, and guiding them towards optimal oral health. Dr. Elwell believes he has been blessed in his profession, stating, “I believe God has put me in this field for a reason. I enjoy the challenges of dentistry every day. Every patient and every situation is different. I enjoy serving others using my hands and my mind to improve people’s lives.”

 

John Peacock, DDS
Dr. John Peacock graduated from North Georgia College in 1969 with a bachelor’s degree in biology and earned his DDS from Emory University School of Dentistry in 1973. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Seattle Study Club, and the American Dental Association and was honored by the Georgia Dental Association in 2017.

Dr. Peacock began his practice in December 1975, operating his clinic in Woodstock, Georgia, until 2004 and has been part-time at Dr. Elwell’s practice since 2011. Married to his wife Linda, for over 49 years, they have 3 children and 8 grandchildren. Dr. Peacock enjoys fishing, hunting, and golf.

A devout Christian, Dr. Peacock has been an active member of First Baptist Church of Woodstock since 1975, serving in various leaderships roles and teaching Sunday school. He is the president of the Baptist Mobile Health Ministry and is dedicated to community service and mission work. Dr. Peacock’s goal is to meet and exceed his patients’ dental health needs. He values the long-term relationships he has cultivated over his career, often treating multiple generations within families.

 

James A. (Jim) Stevens, DMD
Dr. Stevens is our esteemed new colleague. A proud Atlantan hailing from Tucker, GA, he earned his B.S. degree from UGA before obtaining his DMD from UAB Dental School in Birmingham, AL. With 32 years of private practice in Duluth and 9 more in Cherokee County, Dr. Stevens brings a wealth of experience to our team.

Outside the office, he’s a family man, married with three accomplished adult children: a dentist, a veterinarian, and his son owns a horse shoeing business. Dr. Stevens and his wife share a passion for horseback riding, woodworking, and the great outdoors.

Committed to patient-centered care, Dr. Stevens embodies our practice’s values of compassion and excellence. With six grandchildren bringing joy to their lives and another on the way, family remains at the heart of everything Dr. Stevens does. We warmly welcome him to our practice and eagerly anticipate the positive impact he will have on our team and community.
